A message from our Executive Director
A letter to our community

Dear Friends, Supporters, Volunteers, and Community Partners,
It is both an honor and a privilege to serve as the Executive Director of New Hope Grief Support Community. Every day, I am inspired by the resilience, courage, and strength of the individuals and families we serve. I am equally grateful for the volunteers, donors, partners, and advocates who make our mission possible.
Throughout my career, I have dedicated more than 25 years to serving nonprofit organizations and communities through leadership, organizational development, human resources, education, and community engagement. My passion has always been rooted in helping people navigate life’s challenges while creating systems and programs that empower individuals to thrive. As an educator, nonprofit leader, and advocate, I have witnessed firsthand the transformative power of connection, compassion, and support.
At New Hope Grief Support Community, we believe that healing happens in community and that no one should have to face grief, loss, depression, anxiety, or life’s difficult transitions alone. This belief guides everything we do.
I am excited to share that we are entering a new season of growth and innovation. Several new programs are currently under development and will be launching in the coming months. These initiatives are designed to expand access to grief support, mental health resources, youth and family services, wellness education, and community-based healing opportunities. In addition, we are actively developing new support groups to meet the evolving needs of our community.
Whether someone is grieving the loss of a loved one, coping with life-changing circumstances, supporting a child through loss, or seeking a safe place to connect with others who understand their journey, we are committed to creating spaces where healing and hope can flourish.
We are also preparing to launch several exciting community awareness and fundraising campaigns. These campaigns will help us expand services, reach more individuals in need, strengthen community partnerships, and ensure that our programs remain accessible to those who need them most. We invite our supporters to join us in these efforts by volunteering, becoming a community ambassador, participating in events, sharing our mission, or making a financial contribution.
As we continue to grow, our commitment remains unchanged: to provide compassionate support, foster meaningful connections, and ensure that no one has to grieve alone. Thank you for believing in our mission and for walking alongside us as we build a stronger, more hopeful future for those experiencing grief and loss.
Together, we are creating a community where healing is possible, hope is restored, and every person is reminded that they are not alone.
With gratitude and hope,
Sonya Lowe, MBA
